#rollforinitiative   Originally shared by Marko Bosscher If you read one book on Cryptozoology, read this one Cryptozoologicon, a brilliant, funny book that conjures up the magic of your favorite cryptids, from chupacabra to the yeti, while also subjecting them to scientific scrutiny. This is perhaps the greatest, and most beautifully illustrated, work of speculative evolutionary biology you'll ever read. The book starts with an overview of Cryptozoology, it's history, what is aspires to be and what it is. This is quite short (it's the introduction after all) but sets the stage quite effectively. The meat of the book are the monsters cryptids of course, and they are each given a chapter starting with a beautiful piece of art depicting the alleged creature (my favorite is the Zuiyo Maro creature).
