I'm actually surprised how excited I am for 13th Age . I kinda pre-ordered it because I know Pelgrane does good work, as well as based on the reputations of some of the writers. Looking through it right now, and I'm sorely tempted to scuttle my current campaign in favor of this!
To be completely honest, I haven't played a single minute of the game, and yet I've bought the game and backed the various kickstarter supplements there were. That's not strange, right?
Random idea for high-lethality D&D campaigns: Character death unlocks new classes and races. Maybe useful in “special snowflake” campaigns where no one reads your carefully crafted setting material. Instead you roll it out piecemeal as PCs bite the dust. “I really want to play a saurian warlock…sure, I’ll take a drink of that mystery potion.” Someone probably thought of this before.
Hey, I'm using Jeff and Brendan's 20 questions to help me get a feel for my upcoming Perdition campaign. Never done it before. Highly recommended. http://jrients.blogspot.com/2011/04/twenty-quick-questions-for-your.html http://www.necropraxis.com/2012/02/24/20-quick-questions-rules/

ReplyDeleteWe've been playing on and off and I love it. Need to get back on schedule with this.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not. How could it be strange that you've never played a game that isn't actually out yet?
ReplyDeleteWell, I mean, you have, to have earned your name twice. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe fact that I got my group to playtest something is a miracle.
