I have a Facebook friend who sometimes posts her DMs setups... he's got enough heroica to do the entire map in those "center peg" tiles. She always posts them privately though.
I played a Savage Worlds historical steamscape setting this past weekend, and the GM had all the encounters and minifigs decked out in LEGO, with accurate representations of the classes, too! I was quite impressed.
The only way this is at all not a money sink is that I've got tons of old castle Legos at my parents house that I haven't reclaimed yet, and we've got all the Heroica sets except for one. I just spent $22 at that Bricklink site and got more Heroica monsters, a couple hundred tiles, and a couple of female microfigs (princess and warrior) from non-Heroica sets.
I should now be set to make some custom dungeons more like a regular D&D dungeon instead of just rearranging the Heroica sets.
Sorry... I was just trying to contribute to the conversation.
Maybe I'm bitter that I have no cash for steam-sale deals so am subconsciously enjoying the suffering of someone who does seem to have discretionary monies?
Originally shared by Jonathan Tweet Tonight, my "Lethal Damage" 13th Age campaign draws to a close. Meanwhile, the guys are work have talked me into running a couple D&D sessions for them. That was the day 13th Age was announced, and they're happy to play 13th Age instead. That will be my "Great Center" campaign, based in the imperial capital of Axis, the center of the world. It's my opportunity to explore the setting from yet another perspective.
Where did it all go wrong, Casey? I can’t pinpoint it, but it was already too late when they remade 3:10 to Yuma and took a movie that was mostly two men talking about morality in a hotel room and put in a Gatling gun.

ReplyDeleteI played a Star Wars d20 game at Gen Con with Lego figs. It was really fun.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Benjamin John Davis I've got 100 of those 2x2 center peg pieces in my Lego cart. $0.15 each.
Because lego is AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteYou can get them in bulk and for much less at a place like http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87580
ReplyDeleteSweet.

Ok, and now $8 more for dwarves and Gandalf from a Hobbit game, and ninjas and skeletons...
ReplyDeleteNow I'm really done.
Suuure you are.
ReplyDeleteNow that I placed my Amazon order for the Heroica set I didn't even know existed I really am done.
ReplyDeleteReally.
done for today anyway
ReplyDeleteUntil orders arrive...
ReplyDeleteProbably.
if you've got prime that'll be by week's end.
ReplyDeleteI bought one of the bigger Heroica sets "for my daughter" when she was like one and a half. Yeah. I'm always tempted to buy the rest.
ReplyDeleteRamanan S, you really need all of them to make a decent game that lasts longer than 15 minutes. nudge nudge
ReplyDeleteAnd looking on the Lego website, I can't tell if they produce them anymore or if it's going out of print.
I think the line was abandoned in favour of similarly styled and themed stand-alone board games like http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=50011-1
ReplyDeleteOh, fer fucks sake, dude. Why you gotta do that to me?

William Benjamin John Davis contributed to Casey Garske's Lego collection instead.
ReplyDeleteLol. I can wait to see if I can get some of those LotR microfigs on Brick Link later. I'm pretty sure I don't need more sets.
ReplyDeleteIT'S FUN DON'T DENY IT.
