Fitness post. Mute me now.

I started running a few months ago, but I just noticed something self evident. I usually run at 6:00 am because I don't have time after work. But this weekend I ran in the afternoon after a large brunch. Instead of running my usual three, I decided to run two miles, then walk a bit, then run two more. I was amazed when after two miles I felt great, but I slowed down and walked a few minutes before running another two. After that I quit, but I still wasn't wiped out like I usually am. I could have run another mile without too much trouble. Wondering what the hell was going on, I realized I actually had some energy in my system instead of running on an empty tank like I usually do.

I sure as hell can't eat a full breakfast two hours before running, but I can have some gatorade and a piece of toast at least. Maybe I won't feel like a truck ran over me when I'm done.

  1. Maybe a slice of toast before you go out for a run?

  2. Yep, I can shove a piece of toast in my craw without getting up any earlier than I already do.

  3. eggs and bacon, baby. Fat is fuel, and doesn't do horrendous things to your blood sugar (and thus insulin)
