Abby’s math teacher told her she should take the MCA standardized test coming up after spring break because she thinks it will help the school’s overall math scores. This is really too bad because we like her math teacher a lot. But this was a pretty shitty thing to do. Opted out is opted out.

    Her dyslexia makes standardized testing a very bad measure of her actual ability, both over and underestimating. And her scores were used against us while trying to get help from the district.
