Got this in the mail today and finally have a chance to take a look. Mrs. G, who worked in publishing for many years, saw it and immediately started pointing out the little details that I would take for granted and not consciously notice:
The lay-flat cover.
The stitching.
The paper quality.
The embossing.
And most of all, the fonts, layout, and page design since layout was what Mrs. G did when she was in the industry.
I told her how much it was and she said any less and the publisher wouldn't make a dime.

So, Zak Sabbath, Ken Baumann, and Patrick Stuart, you get a great review from the publishing professional of our household.

Glad I didn't just get the PDF.

  1. Any chance Mrs. G could make a guest post discussing those (and what to look for)? Sounds fascinating.

  2. I'll see if I can get her to go into detail.

  4. Hell yes. Thanks so much for this kind and compassionate note. I'm glad that Mrs. G. noticed all the little decisions (and generous price point!) that I obsessed over.
