I’ve been listening the Mysterious Universe podcast.

I’ve been listening the Mysterious Universe podcast. Why? I dunno. The hosts are entertaining, and although credulous, seem to have fun with the subjects they cover.
Based on some of their recent subjects, at lunch I went down an internet hole of:
Crop circles
Light beings
Fairies
David Paulides
Bigfoot
Smiley Face Killer
Dimensional doorways
Wendigo
Aliens

Something less than 5% of the disappearances should be attributed to bigfoot and I can only think of 3-4 of the specific cases where there the person taken was not recovered alive. The rest are something else. According to one of my sources, the bigfoots themselves get abducted. I believe a much higher (than 5%) percentage of the recoveries can be attributed to bigfoot.

Do I know what's going on? Pretty sure. Can I prove it? No. The answer, at least as I perceive it, is right there. It will have more meaning for you if you do the rest of the math yourself.

There is an unknown predator in our forests, and our governments do not want us to know about it. Read the amazing results of a three year investigation of 411 strange disappearances of children and adults in our woods, mountains and national parks. David Paulides, an experienced law enforcement officer, was successful to keep me reading all night his Missing 411 book relating the facts and his analyses of these strange occurrences that defy all logic. Children camping with their parents in Yosemite, Yellowstone, and a dozen of other parks throughout the USA and Canada, disappeared suddenly in one minute of distraction of their guardians, as if a predator was watching from the cover of the trees, choosing his time. Hundred of volunteers searching the woods, with park authorities, canine teams, even army personnel and FBI investigators, were often late in finding the child far from the place of disappearance, his clothes turned out, shoes missing, sometimes naked in the cold forest, or up the mountain, or in a creek bed. Parks personnel follows its protocol to remain silent on these cases and does not answer truthfully or completely to requests for information, as to protect their source of income, but Mr Paulides reconstructed the list patiently, interviewed parents, witnesses, authorities. He related all clues found at the time of disappearances, explained the facts, and leave us thinking about the mystery. None of these cases is satisfactorily resolved, some people are still listed as missing, some were found dead in odd circumstances, others were luckier to be found alive, after a few days spent in the woods in company of a strange predator. The odd amnesia of the victims makes it impossible to clearly identify the guilty, yet some victims and witnesses gave us some clues as to the perpetrator's identity. Are you protecting your child closely enough in the outdoors? I know you think you do. So did the parents of all these victims, who saw their life changing in one minute. This book is written simply, with the gripping factual style of the investigator David Paulides. You will never look at our wilderness the same way, nor walk alone in a national park. Ask the warden if anyone ever got lost in his park, and he will avoid your stare, turn around and walk silently away, looking at his shoes. This book is puzzling, to say the least, but all cases are true, all known facts are listed. In some cases related, Green Berets, part of the famous elite corps, in full gear, were sent up the mountains on their own path, to take down that predator, secretly. This is not a common fiction murder book; this is a book relating what is going on in our national forests. All parents must read this book; we are never alone.

  2. Once upon a time, humans didn't know enough about the world to exclude the possibility of such things. Maybe that time lasted into the 70s. But now science has everything mapped out. For example, we've found so many hominid fossils now that Bigfoot, with no fossil record, just isn't plausible. A hominid with a human-like foot in North America? Now that we have human evolution mapped out, we know it's not possible. At least some of us do.

  4. MU is possibly my favorite-ever podcast. Listen to the bigfoot special, if you haven't.

It's 1000% solid gold. You'll laugh, cry, cringe, and wish you had your own sexy sasquatch encounter.

  7. Casey G. Subscribe! But I'm a few episodes behind. Listening to the Contact in the Desert episodes even as I write this! [X-Files theme]

  8. Casey G. I tried Dark City, but the host is so mean and conservative I couldn't deal with his style of interview.

If you can find older episodes of Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell, the original spooky anomaly radio show, there are some hilariously good episodes in there.

  9. Me: "now science has everything mapped out "

    The Real-ish Greg Gorgonmilk: "That's a leap!"

Indeed, it has been a tremendous leap forward for humanity. The human genome, history of the earth, atomic theory, the Big Bang, evolution of life, etc. Breathtaking scope of knowledge, from the smallest things to the biggest things. And nowhere is there room left for souls, ESP, ghosts, Bigfoot, fairies, reincarnation, Nessie, Atlantis, pyramid energy, etc.
