In life, Yutyrannus huali probably weighed in at about 1.5 tons, making it the largest theropod dinosaur discovered so far that shows direct evidence of proto-feathers. At that weight, it would have been much too heavy to take to the air, but paleontologists think its entire body was probably covered in this primitive plumage.

I love feathered dinosaurs. That doesn't exactly do them justice, though.

Casey G. Yeah, I think there were going for emu or kiwi "hair" feathers, but... yeuch.
