Weird synchronicity.

Weird synchronicity. On this day in 2010 Mrs. G and I went to Macbeth at the Guthrie and tonight, seven years later, we are going to King Lear at the Guthrie.

Macbeth's costume design was almost post-apocalyptic. This is the best photo I could find, but the battle uniforms were dusters over chainmail with gasmasks. Weapons were pistols and knives. Dudes rappelling from the ceiling and Macbeth gunning them down like Chow Yun Fat, then knifing a bunch of motherfuckers. I'm guessing Lear won't have anything like that, but I'm sure it will still be good.
