All this Shadowrun talk lately has me thinking about my favorite piece of equipment from any RPG ever: The Savalette Guardian, aka: The Robocop Gun. My cyber-PI from 2e Shadowrun, Jack Hammer, had one.

From the lowly 10ft pole to the mighty space marine chainsword, what are the greatest pieces of equipment in RPG history?

    That's a great sidearm in SR. 
    I'd say a Maglock Passkey would probably be another great piece for SR's entries into that list.

    The Kender "Weapons that Double as Musical Instruments" were pretty cool (The Chapak was my favourite, combining an axe, a slingshot and a flute)

    White Wolf's Exalted has some of my favorite articles of equipment. The Daiklave and the Warstrider first among them. Each simple artifact represented, at its least, a fearsome work of magical engineering and materials. At its most? A legend given jade flesh.

    The D&D Sunblade. A magic bastard sword that can be wielded as a short sword. Thieves rejoice.

    Also an awesome off-hand weapon for rangers.

This is my gaming circle minus my ACKS players. I am such an asshole. Since they're in the big city now, the players really wanted to know if there were any magic weapons for sale. ACKS ain't 3e or 4e though. There is exactly one magic weapon for sale. I rolled randomly to see what it was and... ...it's a cursed -2 sword. So I told the players there's a weapons dealer/fence who's looking to get rid of a magic sword he's gotten ahold of...cheap. Only 6,000gp when usually a +1 item would be 10,000gp. So far they are not suspicious. They're going to be so pissed at me. I can barely contain my excitement.
