Domains at War has me looking at 15mm minis.
Domains at War has me looking at 15mm minis. Why? I've got hundreds of 28mm minis, and enough lizard man, humanoid, and undead minis to make full armies I'm sure. I don't need another scale! Someone stop me before I buy!
But just look at these Copplestone barbarians. Look at that detail.

Seriously. 15mm is the sweet spot for price, detail, ability to play skirmish or mass combat, etc. It's really evil.
ReplyDeleteFor price for this particular game it's no contest. A stand of troops is six minis. That's about $30 at 25mm, $5.00 a mini is probably even lowballing these days. From what I'm seeing of 15mm, $1.00 a mini is average for high quality minis. $6.00 for a stand vs. $30...
ReplyDeleteI know. I am seriously hesitant about ever buying anything but 15mm from now on. Aeronef is one of the few exceptions I've made.
ReplyDeleteI do have a few Splintered Light lionmen and hyenas (gnolls). I used them with Song of Blades and Heroes to start my daughter on minis games. I could always expand those armies since they're already started...
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of being able to totally pack an entire adventuring party for D&D as well as a ton bad guy models in a cigar box.
ReplyDeletePainting 15 mm people sucks. Vehicles are cool tho.
ReplyDeleteI actually find it easier to paint them than 28mm.
ReplyDeleteNo more than four colors on a 15mm mini.
ReplyDeleteA lot of the 28mm techniques don't really translate well into 15mm.
