So it looks like the Pathfinder and 4e people pulled into the 13th Age popularity vortex are now finding things to complain about. This makes me happy. Keep fighting those edition wars, guys! You're doing God's work.
It's the perfect "fighting on the internet" gif.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw someone on a forum getting angry about math and nitpicking over what "engaged" means, I knew the game had hit the big time.
ReplyDeleteWade Rockett exactly!
ReplyDeleteReally? I don't see any edition warring.
ReplyDeleteAh
ReplyDelete...
Time to check the forum again.
I just saw Naked Gun the other week and I've been thinking about how I might do a comedic noir game like that.
ReplyDeleteGavin Bisesi every time I try to run a serious noir game it turns into Naked Gun.
ReplyDeleteAh... noting on the Pelgrane forum that I could find. Is it the other forum?
ReplyDeleteI've just seen some random "my players don't like X because it isn't like X" stuff.
ReplyDeleteYep. It think it is culture shock on the main part. It is (that which I've seen)
ReplyDelete"X doesn't work like X in this other game I like"
where the 13th Age rules state
"X doesn't work like X in this other game you like, but if you want it to here is an optional rule for X being exactly like X is in that other game and here are the implications of using the optional rule for X and and here is why we decided on our way of doing X as the assumed default".
I don't think gamers in general are used to being supported in their choices of how to run their games in the way they want.
