Tonight in Deadlands, Alison Ziesel accidently shot Tom Gintner in the face while trying to save him from a vampire. The vampire did die when it fell off the top of the train they were on , along with Tom's character's body.
As GM, this was so gratifying.
I like how you're being so subtle about that. It's one of your best features.
ReplyDeleteHow did this happen mechanically?
ReplyDeleteInnocent Bystander rule. No bennies left to reroll the fail.
ReplyDeletehuh. Deadlands looks worth a look!
ReplyDeleteThe character probably would have been finished off by the vampire next round anyway. He couldn't take any more wounds.
ReplyDeleteYeah but MY thing is I like a mechanic that supports shooting someone in the face by accident without it looking like I am being a dick!
ReplyDeleteIn my meagre defense... I was all out of bennies, my ally was all out of bennies, had all wounds, and THE REST OF THE GROUP SAID "sure let's play one more round". So I rolled a 1.
ReplyDeleteHe was doomed anyway. Plus now we get to see if he comes back Harrowed. That will be fun.
ReplyDeleteHe could have been doomed without my involvement though! #efficiency
ReplyDeleteI like her style. I'd have probably done the same.
ReplyDeletei'm not sure the innocent bystander rule dictates that it's gotta be in the face. ;)
ReplyDeleteon the bright side, harrowed are cool.
The face shot is purely DM flavoring. And he was our only veteran of the wierd west character too...
ReplyDeletethat just makes him more likely to come back harrowed. bwahahaaha.
