Yesterday's random encounter roll on the "temperate suburbs" table was 1d8 wild turkeys. There were 5 of them, this is the best picture I got. Watching these huge birds walk and run practically puts you in the cretaceous period. I have no trouble imagining that theropods and ornithomimids moved almost exactly like these guys.
... and were just as delicious.
ReplyDeleteThese guys were totally thanksgiving sized. And I agree that dinosaurs were probably very tasty.
ReplyDeleteThose are some badass wild turkeys. Which is redundant, I suppose, as all wild turkeys are badasses.
ReplyDeleteObligatory comment about how Benjamin Franklin thought they were badass too, and suggested that they should be the national bird. Lost out to cowardly carrion eating eagles; figures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Turkey#Benjamin_Franklin_and_the_national_bird_suggestion
