Originally shared by Jonathan Tweet Tonight, my "Lethal Damage" 13th Age campaign draws to a close. Meanwhile, the guys are work have talked me into running a couple D&D sessions for them. That was the day 13th Age was announced, and they're happy to play 13th Age instead. That will be my "Great Center" campaign, based in the imperial capital of Axis, the center of the world. It's my opportunity to explore the setting from yet another perspective.
Iron Man 3 was nominated for what?
ReplyDeleteAnd the Oscar for most boring superhero movie goes to... IRON MAN 3
SCIENCE OVEN! "Bring something into this house that’s gonna take all the nutrition out of our food and then light our house on fire? Thank God for me."
ReplyDeleteKeith Senkowski visual effects. Yet Pacific Rim was not.
ReplyDeleteNot that I want to spoil American Hustle, but here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/07/american-hustle-paul-brodeur_n_4555403.html
ReplyDeleteApparently, Paul Brodeur wrote the movie studio a strongly worded letter saying that he didn't say microwaves take all the nutrition out of food and that the movie damaged his scientific reputation!
OMG I never fucking heard of him before this movie.
What this list proves:
ReplyDelete1. I don't give a shit about "important" or prestige movies anymore.
2. My wife and I rarely get to go on dates.
3. I'll go to any animated movie.
And Casey Garske sums up my movie going habits as well...
ReplyDeleteHow was that Croods?
ReplyDeleteChristopher Hatty Jennifer Lawrence and the science oven saved American Hustle for me. Cheap knock-off Scorsese movie with great acting.
ReplyDeleteChristopher Hatty the Croods is tolerable. It has an owlbear.

I was just thinking about how few remarkable movies seem to have come out last year.
ReplyDeleteI liked both Gravity and the Superman reboot though. I can't really remember anything else off the top of my head.
Oh and Thor 2 was quite good.
ReplyDeleteTwo more reasons the special effects category is fucked: Thor and Superman.
ReplyDeleteGravity should win, but seriously.
I only ever seem to see nominees on accident.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy American Hustle, but I think it's because I like very stylized movies.
