  1. Iron Man 3 was nominated for what?

And the Oscar for most boring superhero movie goes to... IRON MAN 3

  2. SCIENCE OVEN! "Bring something into this house that’s gonna take all the nutrition out of our food and then light our house on fire?  Thank God for me."

  3. Keith Senkowski visual effects. Yet Pacific Rim was not.

  4. Not that I want to spoil American Hustle, but here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/07/american-hustle-paul-brodeur_n_4555403.html

Apparently, Paul Brodeur wrote the movie studio a strongly worded letter saying that he didn't say microwaves take all the nutrition out of food and that the movie damaged his scientific reputation!

OMG I never fucking heard of him before this movie.

  5. What this list proves:
    1. I don't give a shit about "important" or prestige movies anymore.
    2. My wife and I rarely get to go on dates.
    3. I'll go to any animated movie.

  6. And Casey Garske sums up my movie going habits as well...

  7. Christopher Hatty Jennifer Lawrence and the science oven saved American Hustle for me. Cheap knock-off Scorsese movie with great acting.

  8. I was just thinking about how few remarkable movies seem to have come out last year.

I liked both Gravity and the Superman reboot though. I can't really remember anything else off the top of my head.

  9. Two more reasons the special effects category is fucked: Thor and Superman.

    Gravity should win, but seriously.

  10. I only ever seem to see nominees on accident.

  11. I did enjoy American Hustle, but I think it's because I like very stylized movies.
