Follow up to Ice-T's reading a D&D audio book. I listened to the latest podcast. I quote :
Follow up to Ice-T's reading a D&D audio book. I listened to the latest podcast. I quote :
"What wouldn't Ice T like about a dungeon or a dragon? That shit sounds dope."
"I'm definitely gonna play a game. I want to be a dungeon master."
"People said I should start my own game. I think I'll call it Ghettos & Gangsters... "
If nothing else, the man is a show business pro. He knows how to work a crowd and milk a bit.
ReplyDeleteAnd Ice T makes fun of Mick for playing Flappy Bird. Golden.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, the episode is called, "Don't hate the Player, Hate the Mage."
ReplyDeleteCan I use this picture on my blog? It's too funny!
ReplyDeleteI just Googled for it, do as thou will.
ReplyDeleteAs Eric for sure.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that. :p
ReplyDeleteI'm imagining it done South Park-style, with the picture just as shown here, but the mouth moves like a marionette.
ReplyDeleteThe original thing where he talks about reading the book didn't sound offensive to me. Did people get offended that he had to say more on it?
ReplyDeleteIt sounded like he was impressed with the dedication people put into it and comparing himself as ignorant to the concept.
He said the response to the podcast from D&D nerds was phenomenal. But there were some that thought he was disparaging D&D when he said how hard it was for him to read. He said that wasn't it, "It would be hard for me to read a book on biotechnology or quantum mechanics or some shit too."
ReplyDeleteAND he verified that this was a D'rizzt story. That explains the magic talking sword.
See that's how I heard it. I thought it was really cool. i'll have to listen to his follow up.
ReplyDeleteIn the podcast he said he would never do a fantasy audiobook again, I wonder if he is warming to the idea. His podcast got a ton of geek exposure on the first one.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't do one, I see his hesitation on that.
ReplyDeletebut if he made his own version of D&D, I'd read that.
Ice T OSR, I would play the hell out of that.
ReplyDeleteGhettos & Gangsters sounds OSR to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Ice T has had at least a dozen invites to DM ;)
ReplyDeleteSo I studied the owlbears
ReplyDeleteTo see who had the power
The wights, the ghasts
Or just Wayreth Tower
