Random idea for high-lethality D&D campaigns: Character death unlocks new classes and races. Maybe useful in “special snowflake” campaigns where no one reads your carefully crafted setting material. Instead you roll it out piecemeal as PCs bite the dust. “I really want to play a saurian warlock…sure, I’ll take a drink of that mystery potion.” Someone probably thought of this before.
Okay, my new cleric just smashed a mob of skeletons and knocked them back 30 feet with the might of Pelor.

You're gonna die. that's too bad as your new guy is cool.
ReplyDeleteNothing makes something better in hindsight than it no longer being an ongoing concern.
ReplyDelete"Before, it was a gross World of Warcraft clone for the tabletop, with pay-to-play features, like power cards, but now the real fans can appreciate it."
