Here’s another prehistoric antagonist for you.
Here’s another prehistoric antagonist for you. Prestosuchus was a large Triassic rauisuchian predator. That means it was giant crocodile looking thing that ran with its legs directly below it, like a mammal or dinosaur, instead of sprawled out like a lizard. Basically a giant croco-tiger. They dominated the large predator niches during the Triassic. At this time, dinosaurs were just small things if a predator, or medium sized if a herbivore. It wasn’t until the great extinction at the end of the Triassic when Prestosuchus and its cousins died out that dinosaurs could truly begin to rule the world.
If you need a model for a more animal-like dragon relative, Prestosuchus fits the bill. They look like some of the art for the 3e and 4e D&D drakes. They’d make good mounts for lizardmen or other reptilian humanoids. In any case, #rollforinitiative .

This beats the raptor, and that's saying something.
