Panorama of the awesome mural of Double Ditch at the North Dakota Heritage Center. Double Ditch was a Mandan village of 10,000 on the banks of the Missouri from 1490-1785. Abandoned when Smallpox decimated the population.
Despite being a Anthropology/Archaeology major at a North Dakota University, I'd never seen a view like this before. The most we usually ever see is a recreation of a lodge, not what the city looked like in its prime. Also useful as reference for your non-european roleplaying settings.
