From Voyageurs National Park on FB: Called “Catamaran” by locals, Bert Upton is among the strangest of historical characters on area waters. He lived in a hut built over a dug-out at Squirrel Narrows. Found frozen to death in the 1930s by Kettle Falls pioneer Oliver Knox; Upton was perched lifeless in the snow just a half-mile from his home. Shunning civilization, Upton defined the word hermit. First spotted rowing his crude log raft on Namakan, no one knows how he got there. Upton’s accent implied an English heritage but any personal inquiries brought a stony silence. Some suspected him a man fleeing the law; others saw a bizarre outcast; everyone knew he was peculiar. Just five feet tall and wildly unkempt, Catamaran wore hacked-off pants and walked barefoot with a stick. Yep, PC. It's super fun when the dice go your way and super frustrating when they don't.
ReplyDeleteHell yeah. This game can be so annoying. How you play against teams with some players at level 4 when starting a campaign?
ReplyDeleteI won the first game with my Naggarond Monarchs (dark elves) against Vampires 2-0, but now I'm getting totally screwed by another dark elves team with two witches at higher level. The extra money doesn't really help. Argh!
Always put a extra guy next to the ball before attempting to pick up, never try a pass in a tackle zone, never try a catch in a tackle zone, never try a pass with ORCS! Always do the safe plays first, move, stand up, 2d blocks etc. Never dodge out of a tackle zone with agi 3
ReplyDeleteAdding money to your inducements before a game is worthless, all it does is increase your team value (TV) for that game, its not a straight +cash. So if your at TV 1000 and your opponent is TV1900, all you do by adding +10k before the game is make your TV 1100, 1900-1100 = 800 +10k you added is 900, which is what you would have gotten anyway
ReplyDeleteBlood Bowl is awesome once you get down the basic rules, I would love to start a online league or even do some multiplayer with people I know. Please hit me up!
