Did the old Manual of the Planes have rules for the effects of being on the various planes?

Did the old Manual of the Planes have rules for the effects of being on the various planes? I assume so. Was the Plane of Shadow a thing back then? My PCs may be running into a spot where the plane of Shadow crosses over the Prime Material and I want to hobble them properly.
