My wife and I watched iZombie last night.
My wife and I watched iZombie last night. Veronica Mars with zombies is accurate. But that's fine because I loved Veronica Mars. Characters were all good. The only complaint I have is that "visions" are kind of a lazy storytelling device. They can be doled out any time to move the story along.
What's the show's theory of zombism? What are the rules?

Seem to have been created by a designer drug. Zombies are real, but there's no apocalypse yet. No one believes in zombies yet. She has to eat brains or she'll get dumber and turn into a shambling monster. She gets memories from the brains she eats, and since she works in a morgue, that means she can eat a murder victim's brain and then solve their murder. She also gets some of the person's mannerisms, so in this first episode she got kleptomania.
Benjamin Baugh The rules are as follows:
ReplyDelete1. Be cute
2. Have weird eye makeup/contacts
3. Bedhead
Also that. Cutest zombie ever.
ReplyDeleteI liked it. The flashback is no more gimmicky than the detectives being given clues after the commercial break in any other investigative procedural.
ReplyDeleteMy hope is that some day my kids' generation will look back on our tv shows and comment, "they sure fade to black and then back instantly a lot. Then they reiterate what they just said." I can see that now while watching series on streaming services.
ReplyDeleteIt's like someone read the comic CHEW and mashed it up with zombies.
ReplyDeleteShe is a low energy protagonist. Though it seems like she'll be picking up.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of that one, Lex Larson. Another for the list.
ReplyDeleteFrom the actor's perspective, it sounds a little like Quantum Leap. I'd be interested in reading a comparison to that series as well since the main character will be taking on a different persona each episode.
ReplyDeleteLex Larson it was a Vertigo comic title before getting the TV treatment. But as Casey Garske said I need to go search out CHEW now
ReplyDeleteYeah, I didn't know iZombie was a comic first until I saw the comic-style opening credits.
ReplyDeleteI think you're both going to enjoy CHEW!
