Anyway, respect and congratulations to Ms. Spurling.
I've been a fan since there were just a handful of stories on the Brick Testament page. They were/are so amazingly clever.
ReplyDeleteAlso, for those wanting to learn more about the Bible, the Brick Testament is the absolute best way to do it.
ReplyDeletePeople thought that the Brick Bible was pro-Christian? I always thought it was one of those "look a how stupid this shit actually is" things.
ReplyDeleteIt just tells the King James stories exactly how they are. So it depends on your point of view.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but it seemed to me that they focused on the really brutal, hypocritical or nasty parts of the Bible. At least that was the case when I first stumbled across it, which I think was in the early days of the site.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the presentation of the book makes it less clear that it's a work of satire.
Right, there's a strong emphasis on the Book of Judges (or at least early on), which is kind of notorious for its nastiness.
ReplyDeleteThere are kid friendly versions of the books along with a Christmas story one. I'm sure some of the people that liked the page on FB only know about those.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, she responded to every question people posed and many of the other comments. Awesome.
