Take your mind off national news and read about brontosaurus. I was skeptical when the first stories about this came out. But it's looking like this was a really good study and is well supported. Welcome back brontosaurus.

    Never. Dwarf planet forever. Unless they're going to treat all the Pluto-like objects as planets too.

    The Pluto problem is that it was decidedly a political choice as soon as Astronomers said there were "8 planets".   There are 4 planets or 13,  there is no way you could ever declare their to be "8 planets" unless you are specifically crafting the statement just to exclude Pluto and other planets people not them got to name.

    This was published in an open-access journal. It's worth reading the peer review comments, it's always interesting to see how science is made. It doesn't really resemble the way the media reports it.

This is my gaming circle minus my ACKS players. I am such an asshole. Since they're in the big city now, the players really wanted to know if there were any magic weapons for sale. ACKS ain't 3e or 4e though. There is exactly one magic weapon for sale. I rolled randomly to see what it was and... ...it's a cursed -2 sword. So I told the players there's a weapons dealer/fence who's looking to get rid of a magic sword he's gotten ahold of...cheap. Only 6,000gp when usually a +1 item would be 10,000gp. So far they are not suspicious. They're going to be so pissed at me. I can barely contain my excitement.
