Dinosaur is actually a flightless bird, which means it's a dinosaur that is descended from another dinosaur that flew. There was a long time where if you were walking around the paleozoic, you would not have been able to distinguish between a "bird" and a "non-bird." Especially one that was secondarily flightless.

  2. Terror birds were basically theropods v.2.0. When a niche opens up and there are no big mammalian predators to fill it...
