From the mouths of babes:
Cooper to Mrs. G: "Abby is going to be a water biologist and I'm going to be a dinosaur bone scientist. I guess you and papa are just worker people. You don't get to study or do anything cool."
Too real, Coop. Too real.
Haa! Brilliant! :-D
ReplyDeleteWorker people of the world, unite!
ReplyDeleteHey Coop, I hope you make good on that! Being a worker person sucks.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I play D&D, kid.
ReplyDeletePlease, someone make this into a t-shirt, particularly Lex Larson 's spin on it.
ReplyDeletei know a water biologist who may be willing to chat with abby if she's looking for anything like that.
ReplyDeleteMake sure to use this against him if he starts talking about not going to college or his grades start slipping "Do you want to grow up to be a worker person?"
ReplyDeleteMy co-worker's daughter recently said to her, "You know mom... you're not that beautiful." She is about Cooper's age - the age of Ugly Truths.
ReplyDeleteI may also still have some contacts with naturalists/field biologists who work for the county park system (all women!), if Abby wants to get her pond study on, for example.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I might remind you around the start of summer.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. But OTOH, boosting your kids up to reach higher than you did is sort of the whole game, right?
ReplyDeleteSo true, it hurts!
ReplyDeleteMy brother is a wildlife biologist. His focus is West Texas critterology, and he doesn't do water at all, but I might ask him if he knows of any resources (human or otherwise) if you like.
