Stupid Workaround For Those Who Use Communities, Hangout Events, & Roll20
No idea if this will keep working later, but for now:
1. Go to Roll20 and open a campaign page.
2. Press the arrow next to the "Join Game" button.
3. Select "Launch in G+."
4. Copy the Permanent Link in the pop-up box.
5. Share it to your Campaign's G+ Community.
6. Add the link to the "About this Community" or pin it to the top of the Community stream.
This doesn't let you schedule anything because it's not an event. You'll want to do that through Calendar or something I guess. Everyone just goes to the community and hits the link at the scheduled time like a goddamn caveman.
Also, you can still set up Events through the mobile app, but they are unconnected to Communities, so you can't invite one. I suggest making a circle of those people so you can invite them without adding them one-by-one.
WHAT OUTRAGE!

ReplyDeleteThe new separation of formerly integrated features and services from Google+ is a major disappointment for all online gamers used to play via Hangout, schedule their Events, have campaign-specific Communities and Google Drive folders and being able to share everything with their individual gaming groups. - It is quite depressing.
ReplyDelete"Gamers" aside, these features are important to many users who need to schedule and RSVP videoconferencing and meetings via G+
