    Oh gods I was in campaign like that once... it was terrible. Mostly because the DM didn't really know how to run it and our resources ran out and I think only one PC survived that ordeal.

That was the day 13th Age was announced, and they're happy to play 13th Age instead. That will be my "Great Center" campaign, based in the imperial capital of Axis, the center of the world.
