From Voyageurs National Park on FB: Called “Catamaran” by locals, Bert Upton is among the strangest of historical characters on area waters. He lived in a hut built over a dug-out at Squirrel Narrows. Found frozen to death in the 1930s by Kettle Falls pioneer Oliver Knox; Upton was perched lifeless in the snow just a half-mile from his home. Shunning civilization, Upton defined the word hermit. First spotted rowing his crude log raft on Namakan, no one knows how he got there. Upton’s accent implied an English heritage but any personal inquiries brought a stony silence. Bravo for the entire cast!
ReplyDeleteNot so much for the audience. :p
Bravo for their civil discussion of their concerns. We need more of this.
ReplyDeleteI'm OK with the audience too. It's all just speech. Maybe the cast wouldn't have made the statement if the audience hadn't begun a protest.

ReplyDeleteWe'll see if buyers remorse sets in.
ReplyDeleteI think what has shocked me in the last 2 weeks are the number of people who apparently are not critical of the Government. I've been afraid for 15 years now and don't assume that either party is here to help me.
ReplyDeleteCasey G. I made an Inglorious Basterds ref too when this happened. Great minds.
