Maybe Rey will just say, “Hey, Luke, thanks for the Force training and all, but institutions are bound to be corrupted, so I think it’s best to let the Jedi die and I’ll just do my own thing.”

  2. Hell yes! Just Ahsoka Tano that shit, and then mic drop

  3. Rey's gonna train, but probably not become a Jedi, and will eventually turn to the Dark Side. Remember: when she taps into the Force during her fight with Kylo Ren, she gets super angry and strikes down her opponent with hatred.

Don't worry, though! Ben Solo will "feel... the pull to the light" and restore balance in the end. Though he'll probably die doing it.

  4. Paul Vermeren I really hate that you might be right. That patterning is pretty tight.

    =))))

I guess Ahsoka and Ben will just have to remain my favorite Jedi then.

  9. I mean, it could just be misdirection, though I'm actually kind of interested to see what would happen if Rey was indeed revealed as a villain. A lot of upset people, I'd imagine, which I find intriguing. (I also think that Kylo Ren is the most interesting character Star Wars has produced since the original trilogy, so I'm excited to see his arc... if there is one.)

You know, I've never watched any of the animated series. I don't really like the look of them, and I can't shake the feeling that they simply don't count, regardless of what any official pronouncement says.

  10. But surely you accept the Droids and Ewoks Cartoon Hour as canon?

  11. I accept anything involving Ewoks as canon.

  12. Paul Vermeren yeah 'The Clone Wars' serial is really important to me as far as taking some of the sting out of the prequel time period. The story team worked hard on several agendas, but a couple of those that I was really amenable to were: trying to contextualize Anakin's turn, and making the clones as individualized as possible given limited screen time.

It wouldn't be the WORST thing if Rey made a heel turn...I just don't have as much faith that that kind of story beat would be handled as deftly. (Did that make sense?)

  13. What I really wanted from I, II, & III was: 'The Anakin & Ben buddy-Jedi ala-Lethal Weapon' films ... so... maybe that positions me in the fan scale.

  14. I feel like everyone is mistakenly defaulting to assuming the word Jedi to be singular in that title...

Ep. XII: First of the Jedii.2

  16. I don't just think that Rey is gonna trip the dark fantastic -- I noticed how good she was at killing too -- but I also think Kylo Ren is gonna flip polarity as well. There was way too much setup in TFA about how the light side was calling to him, how he was really tormented by it ... probably General Organa calling out to him. Will be interesting how she reacts now that she knows how he killed Solo.

My long-range guess is that Episode IX is Ben Solo and Finn vs. Evil Rey.

  18. Yessss Kylo. My guess also he will be the redeemed anakin - he's a more real parody of teen Annie already
