The contrast along the scottish border is v interesting. I would have thought it would be closer the hadrian's wall (slightly south)
ReplyDeleteI was surprised they go way out into the Shetlands. But cultures changed slowly in the bronze age, so this represents hundreds and hundreds of years of people moving around the area.
ReplyDeleteThe campaign I’m planning is dark age, so the question is also, “how close is the nearest hillfort with a still useful ditch and wall? And a spring would be nice as well. Someplace I can park my warband until these Saxons leave the area.”
