Can't use a grid with a board, just the table itself. Custom table has set dimensions, so I had to cut my starfield down and turn off the hexes and use the in-game grid. My little Star Wars ship tokens were cool, but had no identifiers. You can add info to each token, but you have to hover over to see. Didn't want to do that. Also decided I have old eyes, and made some high contrast tokens with game-icons.net. Also made the condition tokens stackable, like poker chips, so they don't fly all over (as much).
