Those are nice minis but I always think of space marines as weird monastic warrior priest/knights not wwii marine raiders. They need a bit of flash. Plus what's the good of matte green when the vegetation is fever blue, or the space hulk is made of chrome?
<3 Wayyyy back when I bought the "starter box" they used to make, I painted all my Marines in OD Green with they yellow shield/black bar shoulder pads like 1st CAV. I was later told that "there's no way you can play these minis because they aren't an official color/chapter." /eyeroll
Originally shared by Curt Thompson This is an interesting theory, but I notice the author has to omit one of the most important Heinlein novels to make it work. Time Enough For Love was written in the very early 70s and was a straight (heh) extrapolation of the chaotic and frenetic zeitgeist of that era. http://www.locusmag.com/Perspectives/2012/11/the-joke-is-on-us-the-two-careers-of-robert-a-heinlein/

Originally shared by Andrew “Incomitatum” Chason Hit Me with your Horror I am looking for some horror flicks. The newer the better. Good is good too. I liked House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects . I liked both the new Texas Chainsaw movies. Hills Have Eyes 1 was good (never saw the second . Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2 come to mind as well. A little camp, and/or "back woods" can't hurt. Any of you have any recommendations? Lets try and not go too far back than mid 90's. Aside: How was the new "Freddy" movie? Suggested So Far • Bones (2001) • Drag Me to Hell (2009) • The Grudge (2004) • Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010) • Dog Soldiers (2002) • The Decent (2005) • Creature (2011) • The Last Winter (2006)
I often like those really simple and straightforward schemes, but sometimes those are the hardest to paint well
ReplyDeleteWow I love this.
ReplyDeleteBadass. I love how it tones down some of the more goofy/plastic elements of Space Marines. These guys look "for real!"
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Starship Troopers a bit, just waiting for the bugs to come surging out.

ReplyDeleteMaaaaaaaaaaan so good
ReplyDeleteI wonder where these minis are from. They really look cool, but also slight different than the ones GW makes.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell if they're just heavily converted or not.

ReplyDeletegregory blair major agreeance, my friend.
ReplyDeletekreg Mosier that’s bullshit you can play them however you like. Just gotta say what you are running them as.
ReplyDeleteThis new keyword army building has me thinking about a combined Space Marine/Cadian army, all in olive and khaki.
ReplyDeleteWhat is Cadian?
ReplyDeleteThe WWII looking soldiers for 40k.
