Shin Godzilla was great!


Shin Godzilla was great! I'm sure there was a lot of Japanese stuff going on that went over my head, but who can't understand ineffectual politicians who are in over their heads? Favorite non-Big G scene was when they kept having meeting after meeting with all the same people, just moving to a different room.

    I loved it. The Thick Of It as a monster movie. My favourite bit was the "permission to fire" scene. Perfect.

    I saw it on a plane not too long after it came out and found it pretty interesting. Maybe a bit too Hideaki Anno-ish for me, but still interesting.

    I don’t know anything about Neon Genesis Evangelion except it’s a weird giant-robot anime. So I got to go in with a blank slate.

    I saw Shin Godzilla in the theatre. I bought it on Blu-Ray, even, but haven't watched it again. I need to remedy that...

This is my gaming circle minus my ACKS players. I am such an asshole. Since they're in the big city now, the players really wanted to know if there were any magic weapons for sale. ACKS ain't 3e or 4e though. There is exactly one magic weapon for sale. I rolled randomly to see what it was and... ...it's a cursed -2 sword. So I told the players there's a weapons dealer/fence who's looking to get rid of a magic sword he's gotten ahold of...cheap. Only 6,000gp when usually a +1 item would be 10,000gp. So far they are not suspicious. They're going to be so pissed at me. I can barely contain my excitement.
