From Voyageurs National Park on FB: Called “Catamaran” by locals, Bert Upton is among the strangest of historical characters on area waters. He lived in a hut built over a dug-out at Squirrel Narrows. Found frozen to death in the 1930s by Kettle Falls pioneer Oliver Knox; Upton was perched lifeless in the snow just a half-mile from his home. Shunning civilization, Upton defined the word hermit. First spotted rowing his crude log raft on Namakan, no one knows how he got there. Upton’s accent implied an English heritage but any personal inquiries brought a stony silence. ReplyDeleteARBY'S. WE HAVE THE MEATSHIELDS.
ReplyDeleteWillpower save man. That stuff is delicious
ReplyDeleteTheir curly fries, though. Some people would shank a bitch for some.
ReplyDeleteI certainly would
ReplyDeleteArby's is one of the few brands that I follow on social media.
ReplyDeleteArby's social media people regularly post nerd-related ad content. It's blatant pandering and, as the kids say, I'm here for it.
ReplyDeleteBack in the 80s I used to have a group of friends that would at times end up gaming at the local Arby's in the city I grew up in. They were pretty much 90% drive thru at night, so didn't care that a table of 6 people came in, kept buying stuff and gamed for 3 hours while they cleaned up to close time. We'd be the last customers of the night, policed our own table area etc.
ReplyDeleteYe gods, I miss those fries.
