It might seem obvious, but while I’m writing stuff for Snubfighter I’m always saying to myself “does this work for Star Wars?” If it doesn’t then the rule needs to change or be dropped. I’ve been designing the points system*, and it’s mostly been working…until I get to the TIE/sf from the new movies. I put a cap of 12 points on Snubfighters (gunships and corvettes get more) which is what A-Wings and B-Wings come out to, but the stupid TIE/sf comes out at 15 points! 13 if I just arm it with the turret and missiles instead of forward blasters, turret laser, AND missiles.
JJ should have nerfed these OP Mary Sues of spaceships.
*which are bullshit. You might remember my rant about falling/drowning/starving in Stay Frosty. I’m planning another.
Finally my opening to bitch about the TIE Defender from the video game!
ReplyDelete🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
ReplyDeleteTIE Advanced comes out at 12. TIE Defender would be off the charts.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely the place to bitch about the TIE Defender.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute... you're saying TIE fighters are good?
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDeletePaul Vermeren the Special Forces TIE is. The First Order has regular shitty TIEs too.
ReplyDelete- Shields on a TIE fighter are stupid.
ReplyDelete- The Defender was massively overpowered, impossible to hit, and lengthened TIE Fighter missions to ridiculous proportions.
- Fuck the TIE Defender
Anyway, I look forward to your rant on point systems. I still love the falling essay from Stay Frosty.
I fought Tie Defenders left handed...if I used my right...over too quickly.
ReplyDeleteI only beat the TIE Defender by ramming it.
ReplyDeleteFighting the TIE defender in the TIE Fighter game for me was basically: fire all missiles and then reload the mission if that didn't work.
