Coop and I delved into Castle Ravenloft again to stop the Howling Hag. This time we never ran into the hag at all. Instead, we both immediately drew three 2-monster tokens but got to the Arcane Circle as fast as we could. The monsters we drew were mostly tough 2 HP monsters. We survived with 1 HP each.
This looks fun. Is it fun?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I recommend the board games for sure. Any of them.
ReplyDeleteNeed to break this out again with the twins. I did some make it up as you go dungeoning with it when they were small but never with the actual rulez.
ReplyDeleteI had many issues with the adventure rules in later expansions. But I enjoyed this for what it is.
ReplyDeleteI took this to Fall-In this weekend. Me and 2 friends played the Flesh Golem scenario and got our asses kicked. I added the Dungeon Command Undead set to this game and it ratchets up the difficulty if you are unlucky enough to pull a couple of them in a row.
ReplyDeleteCoop was looking ahead in the campaign book and was pretty excited to use the Flesh Golem.
ReplyDeleteSo it's Castle Ravenloft board game? Co-op vs rules AI?
ReplyDeleteYeppers.
ReplyDeleteHe's like 8 now?
ReplyDelete(trying to gauge or mine)
ReplyDelete7, but he's played this since he was 5. But he can read the cards now.
ReplyDeleteDid it ever scare him?
ReplyDeleteNah, it's Universal Monster level of horror in board game form.
ReplyDeleteSweet, maybe I should get it for my little mens
ReplyDeleteI want to... but now I want the expensive Dragon one.
ReplyDeleteWrath of Ashardalon? Also very cool.
ReplyDeleteCasey G.Yeah that's the one!
ReplyDeleteThe newest one, Tomb of Annihilation, has a campaign system built in. Its pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteBut once you've played the Ravenloft one the rest seem much easier.
I had no idea they made a Tomb if Annihilation one! I also have Temple of Elemental Evil that we'll start if we ever finish Ravenloft.
ReplyDeleteI only own Ravenloft. Is there any rules for swapping cards/characters between sets?
ReplyDeleteNo rules needed, you can just do it. There is a difference in the way traps work with Temple of Elemental Evil and Ravenloft though, so you might want to look at the Rogues more closely.
ReplyDeleteYou can pay extra and get the Tomb one pre-painted!
ReplyDeleteJames LaManna - Where's the fun in that?!?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the fun thing is not paint them and tell James LaManna you're never going to paint them every time he brings it up.
