Main question: since Mako is dead, who will deliver the bad-ass voiceover? On the same subject of revisiting a movie when the character is much older: I really want to see Vivica Fox's character's daughter from Kill Bill get HER revenge on the Bride for killing her mother. The Bride tells Nikki to find her, "if she still feels sore about it" as an adult.

I'm about to play some XCom. Why did I love this game so much as a teenager? Probably because in the mid 80's my mom told me she'd seen an author on Johnny Carson the night before named Whitley Strieber. Strieber started the modern alien abduction craze with his book "Communion." Mom described how Strieber claimed to have been visited by mysterious beings. He wouldn't identify them as aliens, but that's really what he was saying. I was fascinated and terrified by the thought of being taken from my bed at night by aliens. Then Mom bought the book. THE COVER. I could not let myself think about communion aliens at night. There would be no sleep if I did. So, when I see a communion alien, a gray, an X-Com sectoid, all I want to do is shoot it.

Picked up XCOM today.
Picked up XCOM today. When I played the original it was so hard, it prompted me to learn how to use a hexidecimal editor so I could change my soldiers stats and give myself billions of dollars. I don't think I can do that on my PS3, but I still had to accept the "Classic" difficulty. "Only for experienced XCOM players." Fuck yeah, that's me. And holy shit, I haven't felt my heart pound while playing a video game in forever. Skyrim is pretty, but this game is all about tension . I gasped when my sniper was wounded. Now she's out of action for 9 days. FUCK!
