That's what I play in our 5e game. Aggi Redwing, forest gnome diviner Wizard, and son of a famous military captain yet he refuses to learn the martial sorcery of his mother's profession. Though, be does carry a sling she gave him out of a sense of obligation. Ironically, when I'm absent for a session, the GM takes particular delight in Aggi using the sling. So far, he's gotten the kill on several badies.
I adore the playstyle. Merely doing damage now seems terribly boring.
My PC is a witch, And her powers consist of a little ability in flying, and levitating things. Her primary ability is to mirror or suppress the powers of others. So before that is useful I need to RP and guess their powers, and find a way to make it useful.
No combat skills at all. Low physical attributes. Still fun to play in a combat.

First spotted rowing his crude log raft on Namakan, no one knows how he got there. Upton’s accent implied an English heritage but any personal inquiries brought a stony silence. Some suspected him a man fleeing the law; others saw a bizarre outcast; everyone knew he was peculiar. Just five feet tall and wildly unkempt, Catamaran wore hacked-off pants and walked barefoot with a stick. Winter demanded shoes but no socks, a cast-off Mackinaw, and a trailing cap made from the leg of old underwear. He was oddly religious, and suspicious of being poisoned. ReplyDeleteSeems like you could go along just fine and still more than carry your weight this way but I am really not familiar with 5ed.
He probably makes dire prognostications. That's a diviner. Ok, that was easy.

ReplyDeleteSave or Suck is very good in 5E especially since you can use that Sorcerer power to force them to roll disadvantage on it.
