Made my decidedly average Nexus 7 case into a smart case tonight.

Made my decidedly average Nexus 7 case into a smart case tonight.  Materials: 1 grade N38SH 1/4"x1/16th" neodymium magnet, blue-tac, super glue, x-acto knife, cover magnet. Step 1: determine where the "smart spot" was. Put blue-tac on magnet while it was in place and closed the cover so it would stick in the spot it needed to be mounted. Step 2: cut out hole for the rare earth magnet. This was really hard actually. This material is tough. Step 3: glued a really flat fridge magnet onto the cover to conceal the hole. This could have been anything, but this magnet is thin and strong and I like the Current, so cool. Step 4: glued the rare-earth magnet into the hole. Step 5: Profit! Miniature modeling and painting skills and material came in handy. #nexus7

I... I... don't know what to say.

Originally shared by Curt Thompson I... I... don't know what to say. I mean, 'Adult Swim Style' with Marvel D-listers would indeed be awesome. But I can't see Disney allowing them to go the way of, say, Archer. Or even Aqua Teen Hunger Force. http://sciencefiction.com/2012/07/26/marvels-new-web-series-all-winners-squad-premieres/

A few Mountain Lion features in Ubuntu

Originally shared by Raphael “Speedy” Ndem A few Mountain Lion features in Ubuntu With the release of OS X Mountain Lion, owners of Apple branded computers are enjoying the additions the company has added to their so called world’s most advanced operating system. I’m not here to in any way dispute that claim, and while I do not use a Mac of any kind, I admit that I do love several UI elements of OS X, as well as a number of new features that the upgrade brings. Jerry Hildenbrand stated "Save $20, and get an OS that runs better on that Mac" while referring to Ubuntu.. so I suppose this goes out to those who don't have a Mac, but admire some of the rather cosmetic features. If you've only just decided to install Ubuntu, you may want to check out Nixie Pixel's  Top 5 Things to Do After Installing Ubuntu . These here are no game changers, but I do in fact enjoy using them and hope other Ubuntu newbies like myself will do too. As per Apple’s What’s New list... Remind

Hit Me with your Horror

Originally shared by Andrew “Incomitatum” Chason Hit Me with your Horror I am looking for some horror flicks. The newer the better. Good is good too. I liked House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects . I liked both the new Texas Chainsaw movies. Hills Have Eyes 1 was good (never saw the second . Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2 come to mind as well. A little camp, and/or "back woods" can't hurt. Any of you have any recommendations? Lets try and not go too far back than mid 90's. Aside: How was the new "Freddy" movie? Suggested So Far • Bones (2001) • Drag Me to Hell (2009) • The Grudge (2004) • Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2010) • Dog Soldiers (2002) • The Decent (2005) • Creature (2011) • The Last Winter (2006)

News 24th widget I can take or leave. If you know a good news widget please let me know. Ben Gerber to add insult to injury, and you can see your request for a Nexus on my G+ widget.

Does anyone use Obsidian Portal?

Does anyone use Obsidian Portal? I've got a couple campaigns going and I'd like to keep better track of them than I usually do. Is $40 a year worth it or is using something like Google Sites easier? Not doing a Yahoo group. Bleh. http://www.obsidianportal.com/

We have a 3D dice man!

Originally shared by **** We have a 3D dice man! What I loved about #io12 was that pretty much no matter who I sat down next to, I could start a conversation by saying "Do you play RPGs?" and the answer was almost always "Yes". The Venn diagram matching programmers and RPG players has got to look like a nearly perfect single circle. So I was not surprised on our second night out at the after hours parties, when Josh and I sat down on a couch in a bar and I turned to the guy beside  me and asked "Do you play RPGs?" and he said "Yes". A few minutes into the discussion and I knew he was a very smart guy. So I mentioned that we were looking for someone to code 3D dice for Tabletop Forge. And this time I was surprised when I asked "Is that something you think you could do?" and he said "Yes". So meet the new member of the Tabletop Forge team: Joseph Pearson. Dice programmer, RPG aficionado, manga lover and all-round great catch. I&

James LaManna look what Jen just found in a bag she hasn't used since...your wedding apparently. I bought Bruce at the Warstore and never found him after we got home. But Jen went on a tear through a obscenely huge pile of old purses and bags tonight and found him. I'm feeling the need to paint all of a sudden.
