I had a nerdgasm today.
I had a nerdgasm today. My new favorite comic book is The Sixth Gun, a action/horror western. A friend recommended it because we are starting a Deadlands campaign. So I started reading it on Comixology and it is amazing. Today I downloaded issue 21 and after seeing the cover my nerd senses started tingling but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then on the recap page there was a dedication to Larry Hama, the amazing writer of the GI Joe comic. Then I remembered that in issue 20, Becky, the main character had been deafened by an explosion. Holy shit. It's a silent issue as an homage to GI Joe #21. In many ways it's a reverse of the GI Joe story. In GI Joe #21 Snake Eyes breaks into Destro's mountain fortress to break out Scarlett, who'd been captured by Storm Shadow. In this issue of the Sixth Gun, Becky is descending into an underground city to rescue her friend Drake out of the clutches of the Knights of Solomon. In GI Joe the man in black tries to rescue the redhead.
