It might seem obvious, but while I’m writing stuff for Snubfighter I’m always saying to myself “does this work for Star Wars?” If it doesn’t then the rule needs to change or be dropped. I’ve been designing the points system*, and it’s mostly been working…until I get to the TIE/sf from the new movies. I put a cap of 12 points on Snubfighters (gunships and corvettes get more) which is what A-Wings and B-Wings come out to, but the stupid TIE/sf comes out at 15 points! 13 if I just arm it with the turret and missiles instead of forward blasters, turret laser, AND missiles. JJ should have nerfed these OP Mary Sues of spaceships. *which are bullshit. You might remember my rant about falling/drowning/starving in Stay Frosty. I’m planning another.

Been making a lot of tokens for Snubfighter.

Work progresses on the Coopernomicon . But he's really into drawing Pokemon lately and refuses to dual stat them for me. Anyway, this is the Alicesaurus, a unique dinosaur-dog with a cyber-arm, named after our poor little tripod Alice who we only had a month. The story is that we were going to dress Alice up as a dinosaur for Halloween, hence "Alicesaurus," but we never got the chance.

Took the kids to see Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom at the cheap theater last night. To my utter shock I liked it at least as much as an average Marvel movie. The Indoraptor was a much more interesting design than the Indominus. I kinda loved Blue as a velociraptor action hero. Comic-relief stygimoloch head-butting everything and everyone in sight was great. And the “monster in a spooky mansion” plot and setting was a nice change of pace.

Moonlight Availability Chart Last session I ran, the PCs ended up running around in the dark without torches. But I'd determined that there was a 1/2 moon, so in Roll20 I gave them all about a 20ft radius of visibility. But I was wondering about how far people can really see in the dark by moonlight. Well, the Googs found me the pdf of an army research memo about that very subject from 1964. But besides how far you can see in moonlight, you have to determine if the moon is actually out at night. Luckily, to make your own Moonlight Availability Chart, you only need to know the following for your Local Time: 1. End of Evening Nautical Twilight (EENT) 2. Moonrise (MR) 3. Meridian Passage (Mer. Star Wars Kill Team Played a 50 point solo Kill Team game with Legos. I cobbled some terrain together from these sets that were unceremoniously thrown in tubs when we moved. Rebels were Tau, all pathfinders but one breacher. Imperials were...Imperials. The Stormtroopers were only able to kill one rebel, but had flesh wounds on three others. At the end of round five, the Rebels held both objectives and there was only one shaken stormtrooper left.

Twin Cities peeps! September 8th! Jay Exonauts and crew are running a mini-con at Source Comics and Games! I can't GM this year, but Patrick Schifano is running Stay Frosty. Patrick typically runs lots of storygames so every so often he needs to let off steam by slaughtering PCs wholesale.

Reading the Hobbit for the...fourth? time with Coop. Noticing all kinds of weirdness. Like besides the goblins inventing guns and bombs and burglars advertising their services with particular runes on their doors. So the wood elves don't go across the sea into the west like the other elves. Forget about anything in LotR or whatever else. In the Hobbit it says they don't, but the other elves, High, Light, Deep, and Sea elves do. Elrond is a High Elf. Fuckin' three other kinds of elves? DEEP elves? Also, Rankin Bass elves are the best elves. Mirkwood wood elves do not sow. They take.

We finished Abby's Minecraft D&D campaign today. Murr the Conjurer and Fighter Girl the warrior killed all the Ender Dragon's monsters and it fled to other lands. Now Coop is going to pick up DMing and says the story will continue many years later...

Trip to the little game store by our house. Decided I'm going to make a small Chaos Kill Team called the 'Mericans and paint them red, white, and blue. They run around bringing liberty and freedom to planets with weak autogun control laws. Coop bought some Pokemon cards and freaked out when he got a Raichu GX.

Kill Team experiment with Roll20. I made macros for the rolls listed top left. Pretty basic. You'd need your data cards too. I left the grid on using 3.5 style diagonal movement. You can shut the grid off, but it's a little wonky that way IMO. Only a few stats to enter for each model, but still some up-front data entry.
