I hate North Dakota Nazis

Image
I hate North Dakota Nazis Here's something that's happening in my home state. Some neo-nazis got the bright idea to try to buy up all the property in the tiny, almost ghost-town of Leith, ND. But the locals aren't taking it lying down. http://bismarcktribune.com/news/state-and-regional/protesters-go-home/article_fde4725a-2406-11e3-963a-001a4bcf887a.html Best quote:  Chase Iron Eyes, of Standing Rock Sioux Reservation, yelled to Cobb, “If you think you can come 30 miles from our border and threaten our children, you’ve got another thing coming. We’re just the mouthpieces. The warriors are not even here.” Not that ND doesn't have problems with racism, it sure does, but hopefully this brings out our good side.

More sex in the future? Yes please. Originally shared by Pulp Covers More Sex In The Future? Planet Stories, 1949 DEAR EDITOR: These letters squawking emotionally against the inclusion of sex in science-fiction stories leave me disappointed, disturbed and more than a little disgusted. They seem to be the work of inhibited, repressed personalities. I am not placing myself in the position of endorsing smut or pornography, but I believe the subject of sex deserves some straightforward, adult handling. If science-fiction has anything to offer other than mere escapism, its value lies in promoting a receptive, questioning attitude and freeing the mind from the narrow, superstition-bound, taboo-ridden ruts of accustomed thought channels. Nearly every science-fiction story is a glimpse into some writer’s conception of a possible future, and as change is the one certainty in this universe, the future will be different from the present. How different? Our present-day patterns are neither perfect

To date, this is the most complete and robust version of the game thus far. This version brings a huge new addition to the set - autofill character sheets! This makes character generation a breeze in just a few minutes. The linked Google folder contains everything you need to run and play a game of DiG, including: - Rulebook - Character Sheets (autofill* and printable blank) - Sample Adventures - Changelog, for those interested in what changed from 1.06 Please share this around to your friends, and as always, feel free to provide feedback, questions, or concerns.  Happy gaming! * Quick note on the autofill character sheets: From my experience, the PDF does not update any fields in Mac's Preview or Windows 8's Reader. Preferable to use Adobe Reader and save a copy locally if you want to save your changes. In addition,

GM and one PC OSR D&D. If you know those acronyms, you probably want to playtest this. Originally shared by Kevin Crawford I need a few external playtesters to give a diversion of mine a spin. It's called "Scarlet Heroes", and it's an expansion and elaboration of the solo-PC Labyrinth Lord rules I provided in Black Streams: Solo Heroes. In a nutshell, it's intended to allow you to take a single standard old-school PC and run them through an OSR adventure that would otherwise be calibrated to require an entire group. For the sake of being a stand-alone game it's also got rules for creating your own PCs, but I'm not so concerned with those as I am with the basic solidity of the rules shims I've put in. I've had people confirm that they work, but I want to give it a wider test before I push forward with it. The final game is meant to do a lot more than just this, of course, but since this is at its core I need to make sure it's working. If you

My wife and I managed to finish off season 1 of Arrow before season 2 starts. Score! The whole season is basically a drawn-out version of Batman Begins, but it works. I have to like a show a lot to actually commit to watching this many hours of TV, but Arrow made the cut.

My RPG reading this weekend was Spears of the Dawn.

My RPG reading this weekend was Spears of the Dawn . I bought it soon after it was available in PDF, but hadn't done more than glance through it. If you're into OSR RPGs, Africa, or just looking for something new, I think you'll like it. I already knew I liked the basic mechanics from Stars Without Number and they're just as good here, even with spellcasting added in. But the real draw here is the setting, a detailed fantasy pastiche of Medieval Africa, with the PCs being locals instead of outsiders from a European fantasy pastiche just visiting an exotic location. Kevin Crawford has done several things to make it really easy for someone who doesn't know a lot about the history of Africa (me, most other people) to get into it without feeling lost: 1. The PCs are expected to be adventurers. They are the Spears of the Dawn, classic adventurers in the D&D sense. They are expected to wander around plundering tombs. That’s their job. 2. The PCs are expected to be ou

Three stats to rule them all!

Three stats to rule them all! I'm updating my 2-Page Space rules to only have three stats instead of the classic six. There are only three classes and I feel without a wider variety of classes that each have their own favored stat, you just end up with multiple dump stats. So I need to decide what to call them. I noticed it's on Netflix last night after spending a half hour watching T-Rex clips from Jurassic Park and King Kong with the toddler. He especially liked the scenes of T-Rex's downtown LA rampage in Jurassic Park 2, "Oh no, T-Wex! Oh no T-Wex! Baby T-Wex! Go go, T-Wex!" So this kid needs some more dinosaur action. Is this movie the Land Before Time but with a predator protagonist?
