And my wife just told me that Sue Grafton died. Kinsey Millhone will never solve her Z mystery. The family says they will not hire a ghost writer. Good. http://www.suegrafton.com/bookshelf.php Originally shared by Casey G. Patrick O'Brian on endings. I agree totally. Goes for books, movies, and equally applies to RPG campaigns as well. I'll say that structured plot is unnecessary as well.

Long but worth the read. Originally shared by Gus L I wrote a thing on 5th edition XP and how to use Gold for Experience in the system - something it's lacking even as an official option.

My GW games splurge is almost over. I've decided Shadow War: Armageddon is the best substitute for an XCOM miniatures game. XCOM could be the Scouts or Guard Veterans, and a mix of the other races could proxy for whatever aliens you might want. https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/shadowwar-armageddon-sb-eng-2017

Excavations of the tomb and the five burial pits within revealed grave goods, including a 14-sided die, 21 game pieces, and broken bits of a game board, reports LiveScience. There was evidence the tomb had been extensively looted. Indeed, archaeologists encountered the remains of what may have been one of the grave robbers lying in one of the 26 shafts made by the thieves. Failed his save. The recovered 14-sided die is made of animal tooth. LiveScience writes, “Twelve faces of the die are numbered 1 through 6 in a form of ancient Chinese writing known as ‘seal script.’ Each number appears twice on the die while two faces were left blank.” Originally shared by Ancient Origins Looters seem to have rolled the dice and lost when they plundered the #tomb of an #ancient aristocrat in Qingzhou City, #China. When archaeologists uncovered the 2,300-year-old tomb, they found pieces of a mysterious board game, as well as the body of a suspected thief. https://buff.ly/2B1KsEa

Coop painted an entire unit of Necrons, and I painted three Death Guard marines, trying to get my mojo back. I went purple and pink. Tried to make all the hoses look like intestine, etc. Crappy pics, and I don’t know when I’ll varnish them. That’s not as forgiving as priming is in the cold.

Rules are made to be broken

Image
Rules are made to be broken From Perdition ’s monster entry for Skeleton : The dead do not walk in Perdition. Those who bind and raise the dead have either made a deal with a demon for the use of his many souls, or worse, has bound the spirit of a fiend themselves into the skeleton. Paraphrased from Perdition ’s Magus class description: Specialization: Magi select from the schools of Arcana, Enchantment, Fleshcrafting, Illusion, Law, or Shadow. (notice anything missing?) From a section of Perdition titled Where does a devil come from? : When a person dies, they leave behind a soul…If they die corrupted or on a conquered plane like Perdition, they immediately find themselves on the banks of the river Lethe. After experiencing unimaginable torment…what is left is reborn as a Lemure. They are used as fodder in the blood war. From these (and other) parts of the text we see that a couple of staples of D&D are missing. Magi have no necromantic spells. There are no intelligent undead li...

Originally shared by David Brin Aaaand... Putin wins again! With this decision to squander NASA resources on the same dumb goal as China, Russia, Europeans, Indians and various billionaires, DT sabotages our chance to do what none of those others - only we - can do...go where the real riches are. Asteroids & Phobos. Sure, a lunar orbital station is valuable for many reasons. (For one thing: we could sell services to all those wannabe groups desperate to plant dusty footprints on the (for now) useless moon.) But repeating Apollo? Go ahead. Name any benefits for the US joining the symbolism craze - going back down that dusty gravity well! All you Republicans - (and return-to-the-moon' is a GOP catechism) - can offer is vague arm-waved justifications, zero facts. All this does is make us PART OF THE PACK! While we, alone could access the vast wealth in asteroids! Which is why Putin and the Kochs want to divert us. Oh, and of course this associates NASA with both money-wasting and...
