I picked up Mechanicus. It's XCOMish plus some gamey strategy stuff. You have to get Cognition points to do extra stuff like make special attacks and move extra spaces. Here are my servitors about to smash a Necron with their servo-arms.

Space Marine post The Ancient didn't really fit the theme I want for my marines, so I grabbed my box of clicky mechs and turned him into a Techmarine. Now I'm trying to decide on servitors. I'd like more sci-fi robots than cyber-slaves. I have a few ideas.

Super friendly new store in the hinterlands of the northeast Twin Cities metro. Bought some paint and brushes. Mostly Warmachine and Hordes for minis which is interesting. Did not try the coffee.

Started listening to the first Eisenhorn novel and it is badass. 40k noir. Excellent.

What have we done? Blind box collectible Space Marines. But the sculpts are super nice. Coop got two-gun dude, and I got a sergeant, which is actually great. I needed one.

Coop and I delved into Castle Ravenloft again to stop the Howling Hag. This time we never ran into the hag at all. Instead, we both immediately drew three 2-monster tokens but got to the Arcane Circle as fast as we could. The monsters we drew were mostly tough 2 HP monsters. We survived with 1 HP each.

Review of a book I've only listened to a 3rd of I got that Warhammer audio Humble Bundle because I do most of my "reading" as audiobooks these days. It's three novels and a bunch of hour long audio dramas. I started with Dark Imperium . I haven't read anything but a bit of Caiphus Cain, so nothing in the "main storyline" of 40k. I only knew what I've absorbed by nerd-osmosis over the years and by playing video games up until buying the new Dark Imperium boxed set and reading some codexes. So the novel of Dark Imperium is pretty good if you are jumping into 40k right now. From the boxed set you learn about Guilimane and the Primaris marines, so you're a little ahead of the curve. What is great about the novel is that it makes Roboute Guilliman into a pretty good character instead of a hundred dollar $60 overpowered miniature. Also shocking that he's an actual "good guy" instead of the "least bad bad-guy" that the Imperium

Abby and I watched Jaws last night. She jumped at all the right places. Still such a perfect movie. We've now watched three shark movies, Jaws, 47 Meters Down, and The Meg. Deep Blue Sea is up next I think.

Coop and I played Ravenloft. Howling Hag scenario where everyone is separated and has to get the the middle of the dungeon. We got really unlucky and did not get a pathway. Coop Fey Stepped his wizard into the arcane circle room, but drew a fire trap that he couldn't disarm. I finally connected to the circle room, but had no way to heal the wizard and that was that.

Let me tell you about my character Last night Tetza the Warlock retired at 18th level as master of his own demi-plane and leader of a cult that takes money from rich people and in order to use it to prevent incursion into Olman lands.

Abby smoked that girl by three seconds like it was nothing. Pretty intense with everyone in the place screaming for just two swimmers in the last race of the meet. The other girl was a junior and was pissed she lost. Swearing and splashing. Abby thought better of trying to shake her hand.

At preliminary swim finals and Abby tied another girl in the 200IM to move on to the next round so at the end of the meet she has to swim a tie breaker race. Just her and this other girl. And a guy asked her out today. And I've been on her about her grade in a super hard class that is not easy for a dyslexic kid. 15 is eventful . Coop drew this 100% accurate picture of her right now.
