Feels like a weird dinosaur kind of day. Amargasaurus is a small, early Cretaceous sauropod from South America. The cool thing about Amargasaurus is the double row of spines that run down its neck. You might see illustrations of these shown as sails, but apparently it’s more likely they were bare, horn covered spines. Either way, this is an awesome looking dinosaur. Gaming stuff Although I’ve got a healthy appreciation for the random encounter table, I think for Riders of the Purple Lotus I’ll want something a bit different. When you roll an encounter with a herd of some kind usually not aggressive animal, that’s kind of boring. What you need is complications. So, another table maybe, with things like environmental hazards, predators, and geographical features. Then you will get encounters like the (way too long) sauropod chase in King Kong, and the T-Rex hunting the gallamimus in Jurassic Park. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amargasaurus
