More effective than a scythe.

In 5e there doesn't seem to be any reason you couldn't ditch skills, and just offer advantage or proficiency bonus on rolls relating to background, class, and possibly race.

Speaking of Transformers vs. GI Joe , Scioli is great at visual storytelling. For example, Hawk has been carrying around this weird axe the whole series. With no explanation, Stormshadow tries to steal it. Hawk wonders why. Boom. An amazing panel hinting at a much larger story. Now in the latest issue, you see an illustration from the Cobra Bible (that there is such a thing is crazy enough). Check out the shape of Adam's staff.  I love that stuff.

We saw Monkey Kingdom yesterday. There was a part where winged termites hatch and the air is full of them. All the animals chow down. The scorpions catch them and then stick them to their backs to take home later. So of course I thought what if a giant scorpion did that to a village of people? #horrifyingnature

Still in a dinosaur mood. Acrocanthosaurus isn’t well known and deserves more attention. They were beefy allosaurus cousins from the early Cretaceous. They’re cool because they’ve got neural spines like a bison that gave them a burly look. Acros aren’t famous since they’re not quite as big as a T-Rex, Giganotosaurus, or Carcharodontosaurus. HBO Now post We've only watched Game of Thrones (not on the night it airs) but the quality is terrible. Even just watching on the computer without casting the tab to the Chomecast it's choppy. Is this just because we're watching GoT? Is the quality better on shows hundreds of thousands of people probably aren't constantly streaming?  I'll try out some other stuff this weekend, but right now I think I'd rather wait until the quality improves and it's available directly on Android.

Sisco and Laurel have more chemistry in the latest Flash than Laurel has with anyone on Arrow. And this was hilarious.

Survived another office visit from my boss.

18 years ago. Quite the thing to experience. On April 16th, my girlfriend's (now wife) birthday we drove to Minot so she could go to a job interview. We got back to Grand Forks and they'd announced the evacuation. We both packed up what we could and drove to our parent's houses. The next morning my parents and I drove back into Grand Forks during the evacuation to move everything else we could out of my basement apartment. Later that day the dikes broke. Concert Review Clutch and Mastodon kicked off a joint tour together at the Myth in St. Paul last night. The tl;dr version of this review is: No one can follow Clutch. Clutch went on first, they were as amazing as always. Neil is such a showman. He oozes charisma. This isn't news. They played a song from their new album that will come out in September. Awesome. So Mastodon. I like Mastodon quite a bit, but live, I'm not sure I'm the audience. I realized that when I listen to them what I sort of want is musical white-noise so I can focus on what I'm doing. Anyone else have a mixed marriage? As in one of you uses an iPhone and one an Android? Lately when my wife texts me from her iphone it does not go through to me. Maybe it's just longer texts? She's chatty. I've also gotten a few where we look at what she sent and what I received and it's not even the same message. Like what she sent got mixed in with another message she sent me before. Googling this finds lots of stuff about when people switch from an iphone to android and their contact info needing to be reset, but that's not the issue here. I've never had an iphone. So, Apple nerds, any ideas?
